Happy (belated) Halloween to all you folks! Life has been – as expected – totally crazy here at home over the weekend, thanks to Halloween and costumes and pumpkins and tricks and treats and heaven-knows-what. My little boy had been wanting to dress up as a shark from last year itself for Halloween and so his wish came true this year, complete with sharp, pointed razor-like teeth. An old grey sweatshirt with a hood was hauled out of the trunk in the basement and it eventually took the shape of a ferocious shark, snarling and baring its teeth, ready to lunge (albeit the sounds emanating from my very own little dressed shark were too timid for anyone to faint with fear). However the little tyke did try his best and left everyone literally ‘cowering with fear’ if not fainting (or at least pretending to, which he luckily didn’t seem to realize! :D)
Sarah was a genie-cum-witch (she couldn’t decide which one to opt for between the two so we tried to make her a little bit of both) armed with a broom in one hand and a pointy witch hat and black cape on her shoulders. This was decorated with gold and silver dot stickers and jacket fasteners with string, so that they dangled when her cape swished about. She claimed these ‘danglers’ made her look like a genie and the blackness of the hat and cape a witch. Frankly speaking, I just thought she looked happily weird; but I guess that’s what Halloween is all about!
